Accra New Town fire: Circle firefighters dispatched a minute after alert
Firefighters from the Circle Fire Station contained a domestic fire at Accra New Town near GCB on Monday, September 14, 2026, preventing the blaze from spreading to other units.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the alarm was received through Fire Master Control at 8:37 a.m., with the firefighting crew dispatched a minute later at 8:38 a.m.
The crew arrived at the scene to find fire engulfing a chamber-and-hall self-contained unit.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control at 8:51 a.m. before finally extinguishing it at 9:22 a.m.
According to the GNFS, four chamber-and-hall units were salvaged during the operation, although one unit and its contents were completely destroyed.
No casualties were recorded in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
